Carmen Calvo Couto

Carmen Calvo Couto is a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales as well as in Spain.

She studied a Postgraduate Diploma in European Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University and a Master’s Degree at the University of Sussex in Private International Law, completing her thesis in Aviation Law. Her passion for aviation led her to obtain her pilot’s license and specialize in aviation law advising airlines and their insurance/reinsurance. She has worked in the City of London for more than 10 years in prestigious Law Firms, having recently moved into the international commercial law department of Cognitive Law.

He has been practicing English law for over 20 years, specializing in civil and commercial cases, having advised multiple insurance companies and multinationals, but also individuals and SMEs. She understands the legal differences in both jurisdictions, as well as the barriers that can arise due to language and cultural differences that can lead to misunderstandings.

Carmen has been a member of several international groups and associations and has participated in numerous national and international seminars on comparative law and English law.
